Captains/Skippers

We are looking for captains to join our hard-working, supportive, congenial team for the remainder of our fast paced summer/fall season (July through October). Part time or full time positions are available starting immediately (or at the applicant’s earliest convenience).
 
Successful candidates will have the following:
 
– Valid 60 Ton Master Ltd. certification or higher
– Strong navigational skills and a high level of safety awareness
– Comfortable taking a leadership role on board a vessel, especially during an emergency
– Knowledge and navigational experience of the Pacific Northwest Coast and Salish Sea including: Howe Sound, the Strait of Georgia, the Canadian Southern Gulf Islands, and American San Juan Islands
– Ability to work as an effective member of a team environment
 
Additional assets include:
 
– Basic mechanical knowledge
– Experience manoeuvring 40 ft vessels 
– Knowledge of/experience with jet propelled vessels
– Knowledge of whale/wildlife behaviour and/or experience manoeuvring vessels around wildlife
– Knowledge of Pacific Whale Watch Association guidelines
– An acute environmental awareness and passion for conservation
– Outgoing, friendly, team-oriented personality 
– Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills
– Flexible schedule
– Bilingual

Mechanics

– Strong knowledge/background of vessel maintenance and other mechanical competency
– Auto-mechanics who are eager to learn about boat/vessel engines are encouraged to apply
– Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills
– Ability to work as an effective member of a team environment
 
Additional assets include:
 
– Experience with YANMAR engines/vessel maintenance
– Valid 60 Ton Master Ltd. certification or higher
– Experience manoeuvring 40 ft vessels 
– Knowledge of/experience with jet propelled vessels
– An acute environmental awareness and passion for conservation
– Outgoing, friendly, team-oriented personality 
– Flexible schedule
– Bilingual
