Whale Watching Season Kicks Off April 12th!!

Posted on by admin

We are just a few days away from opening our doors for the 2014 whale-watching season!! We will have two departures scheduled daily to start the year, 11am on the open air boat and 12 noon on the semi-covered boat. We are currently accepting reservations through our website or by phone at (604) 699-2011. All of our staff are looking forward to getting back out on the water. There have been some amazing sightings throughout the early Spring. Lots of Transient Killer Whales have been seen throughout the Gulf and San Juan Islands. There was also a report of Transient Killer Whales attacking Pacific White Sided dolphins near the mouth of the Squamish River in Howe Sound, just north of Vancouver. Pacific White-Sided dolphins were also seen inside English Bay just minutes from our dock on Granville Island!! Biologists believe the increase in dolphin sightings is related to efforts to encourage Herring to spawn in Howe Sound and False Creek. These dolphins are gregarious and great fun to watch…hope we get some sightings this Spring!!  See you on the water!!
